Amanda Sawall

Library Media Specialist

I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in English Education. I completed my undergraduate student teaching in Queens, New York and have had numerous opportunities to educate and connect with diverse individuals. In 2011, I received Summa Cum Laude honors for my Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Through this program, I completed student teaching at both a public school library as well as a public community library. These experiences enhanced my knowledge of collection management, policy development, reference support, programming and information literacy instruction.

I am currently employed as the 6-8 Library Media Specialist for Canandaigua City School District. In this position I provide collaborative information literacy instruction that inspires students, programming that includes partnerships with community resources, and professional development opportunities for teaching staff.

My professional goals include providing instructional leadership and access to information in a variety of formats. To further explore my education and credentials, please browse this site using the navigation bar along the top.
